Skate service – professional sharpening, profiling and maintenance
Pro Skate offers professional skate maintenance in Espoo. We service hockey skates, figure skates and nordic touring skates.
The condition of your blades and the right profile have a major impact on how your skates feel – grip, glide, agility and control. That’s why skate maintenance should cover not only sharpening but also the blade profile and the skate as a whole.
At Pro Skate we do skate sharpening, blade profiling and a range of skate repairs and adjustments with professional-grade equipment.
Skate sharpening
Sharpening is one of the most important parts of skate maintenance. The blade must be straight, even and sharp for the skate to perform at its best on the ice.
A professional sharpening gives you even grip on both edges, maximum glide and a reliable feel for the ice.
We also take the skater’s personal preferences into account, such as the preferred hollow depth.
Blade profiling
Blade profiling means shaping the blade to the desired form. The profile affects how the blade contacts the ice and how the skate behaves in acceleration, turns, changes of direction and straight-line skating.
The right profile can help the skater find a better balance between glide, grip, agility and stability.
There is no single correct profile. The choice can depend on the player’s size, weight, skating style, position, skill level and personal preference.
Not sure which profile suits you? Ask us – we’ll help you choose.
